This year's Thanksgiving weekend was a unique and eventful one. Starting off with Thanksgiving day, we celebrated my oldest brother's 24th birthday! I have no idea what it feels like to have a birthday on a holiday, but it must feel festive with all the happy people, good food, and time off. Although my whole family was home, my brother, Aidan, had caught some serious East coast food poising which made our house feel like a hospital. There was hand sanitizer at every doorway and face masks being worn during food preparation. Although cautious, a bit unusual. Some usual activities that took place were watching football games, going for long walks, and eating all day long. My mom is known for having the best snacks possible, and ordering Amazon Prime Now at the blink of an eye. Our doorbell rings every couple of hours for deliveries. As the day transitioned into the night, my other brother Kellen started to fall ill to a sickness. At this point, I did not want to be in the house. I had to work Black Friday so there was no way I could get sick. Unfortunately, the next day I was healthy enough to work a miserable holiday shopping event. Working for a wireless center, it is imperative to have working IT systems. But as the shoppers lined up, our systems went down. To say the least, it was a terrible day.

Although a terrible black Friday, the holiday weekend got a lot brighter when a date at the Christmas farm fell out of the sky. Dylan and I had been trying to pick up a Christmas tree for a few weeks now, and the opportunity couldn't have been any better. We drove 20 miles outside of Bellingham to a local farm which was selling u-cut trees for $3.50 a foot. It has been a secret desire for me to own a Christmas tree farm, I think that would be a great idea and a wonderful place to live. Growing up as a child, we would pull our synthetic tree out of a big box from under the stairs each year. The smell and shedding of a live tree never appealed to my parents. So, it was finally time for me to create my own special memories. Once we drove up to the lot, a wonderfully nice lady greeted us with a saw and instructed us on the different types of trees. I was immediately drawn to the Colorado Spruce that were light green with a hint of silver. As we scoured the farm taking candid pictures, we finally came across the perfect tree. It was a four foot spruce that outshone all the others. We took my mini scion IQ, so there wasn't much room anyways. Dylan and I took turns slicing the trunk until it fell. We then happily carried it back to the car and mistakenly tied the only two doors closed. We couldn't help but laugh at ourselves, because it was very stupid of us. We made one last stop at the local store for green and blue (Seahawks) Christmas lights. We plan to string some of our favorite pictures on twine for the ornaments. I love walking into the apartment and having it smell like fresh nature, it was an amazing experience and can't wait do it bigger next year!

We ended the holiday weekend with the Seahawks Vs. Steelers football game, on Aidan's 21st birthday! I was so happy to help Aidan celebrate and what better way than good ol' family, football, and beer! Being that we lived half of our life in the city of Pittsburgh, we didn't even care who won. Just the energy and excitement to have both the Steelers and Seahawks fans around, made me so happy-I felt complete. It was an intense and loud game with a breaking record of over 69,000 attendees. It was definitely a weekend to remember for a lifetime. Up next, a trip South of the Washington border.
