This weekend, Dylan and I head up to Vancouver, BC, to spend the weekend in a luxurious condo that was on house exchange with Dylan's dad. We arrived in the early morning so that we would have time to explore the mountains up north. With our final destination of Whistler, we made a plan to stop at Brandywine Falls. When we arrived at the falls, I was so amazed by the beauty of the giant waterfall. It was one of the most perfect waterfalls I have ever seen. Dylan had figured out how to get down to the bottom of the falls so we proceded on the unmarked trail. As we walked past the viewing points, we came across steep cliffs with rope hanging from the wall. We were warned that the trek down can be a bit complicated. It was quite an adventure to hang from ropes and hope I have the strength to get down. But after a scary and thrilling rope adventure, we made it to the next obstacle. We then carefully climbed down a few hundred feet of rocks to a forest. The forest was cool and mossy, it felt like heaven. We then started to hear the water and knew we were getting closer. After hiking, ducking, and hopping through the overgrown forest, we finally caught an amazing view of the waterfall-from below. We were so excited with our adventure, and it was time to take pictures. We spent at least an hour taking pictures of the waterfall and taking selfies. At the end, we decided to cool off and stood in the fall's mist until we were soaked. We knew exactly how to get back to our car at this point-but the rope section was still our hardest obstacle. During the rope climb, I slipped a little because of the dry dirt, but the LG G4 caught that special moment. When we got back to the car, we were hot, sweaty, and thirsty. I can't believe we forgot to bring water. After cooling off and chugging water, we headed to Whistler. We stopped at the village at the summit to enjoy a late lunch. There were a plethora of dirt bikers there; as they were taking the lifts to the top and allowing gravity to do the work for them. Dylan had spent many summers in this area while he dirt biked religiously. He then took me to his favorite hot dog shop where we both ordered a Zog Dog: a hotdog topped with marina sauce and mozzarela. It was so good!! When we got home, we relaxed on the deck of our 24th floor apartment and enjoyed a beer. It was an amazing day and we willl be going on the Whistler Gondola very soon!
