When sunlight filled my room this week, I knew there was going to be time to revisit one of Seattle's best beaches, Golden Gardens. The ginormous sandy beach is popular for games of volleyball, bonfires, and stunning views of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains. It wasn't hard to plan for a perfect day at the local beach. I stopped by QFC to pick up some gourmet pre-cooked grilled cheeses, pesto pasta salad, some s'mores, and firewood. AND, I also had just purchased a Chillax brand tree hammock. This compact and lightweight hammock easily strings around two trees and allows me to leave the lounge chairs at home! What's more magical than floating above the forest floor? It was so peaceful just to stare up into the trees and hear the ocean in the background.

We then started to light the fire and make our food. We cooked the grilled cheese on the Coleman propane stove top. It was so simple to bring the equipment we had, it all goes such a long way. As we soaked in the heat from the sun and the fire, we enjoyed watching the other happy people at the beach and letting Mac make some dog friends. We then cooked up a variety of s'mores. Some with graham cracker and cookies 'n creme chocolate. Others sandwiched between an Oreo cookie. As the sun started to disappear, people started to fill the bon fire sites. One group had even brought their dried up Christmas tree to blaze-It was quite the event to watch! Going to Golden Gardens was the perfect afternoon activity in Seattle. Although the air is still crisp, the sun and views are just so unbelievable.
