I was rewarded with a long weekend before Thanksgiving which gave me much time to explore many activities. With three whole days ahead of me, I planned to take a relaxing but adventurous approach to my time off. Unfortunately, camping was not on the schedule. On my first day off, I was able to take advantage of playing with my new drone and hover board. Both items are spoken highly of online, and I had a whole 6 hours of daylight to test them out. Dylan and I went to a local grass park in Bellingham to fly the drone. The wide open field was the perfect place to practice and take pictures. While I was flying the drone into trees, Dylan was taking advantage of the hover board. He mastered the 180 and was going for the 360. We eventually were teaching each other our tricks and then came up with some together. Our best idea was the 2 on 1 for the hover board. I hopped on Dylan's back, he hopped on the hover board, and we hovered off into the sidewalk. We felt so awesome accomplishing that "trick". After a long day of playing with new gadgets, we met up with our friend Sara at one of our favorite breweries. It goes by the name of, Aslan, and has gourmet organic food and brews. We specifically love their happy hour which gives us $1 off beers and $2.50 tacos. We are absolutely obsessed with their pork and yam tacos. All just too good! We ended the night by setting up our new cable box and cooking stuffed peppers. It was a wonderful day in Bellingham.

The next day, Dylan and I were eager to do a hike. We had heard of Lake 22, which is a 6 mile round trip, 1,300 foot elevation gain hike. Similar to Wallace Falls, but much different scenery. We pulled into the trail head at around 10am, after a stop at McDonald's for coffee and food-I tried the breakfast burrito for the first time and I wouldn't recommend it. The trail head parking was already packed so we were in for many passings. Dylan also wanted to hike his Oru Kayak up the mountain, so we were faced with many questions like "is that a massage table" or "are you guys rock climbing", Dylan simply responded with cliff jumping. The kayak folds up into an oversized box that weighs 26 pounds, people were mesmerized with its transformation at the top of the mountain. Dylan was a champ for carrying the kayak, it was worth it. When we arrived at the top, we were greeted by snow and a beautiful lake. The lake had a whole boardwalk trail around it, I cannot describe how amazing it was. Such a surprise and a winter wonderland. Maybe one of my favorite locations now. Not to our surprise, we recognized someone from the Instagram world, Griffin lamb and friends. They were taking advantage of the beauty and were on their way back down when we had gotten to the top. After a whole day spent at the mountain, we are already planning for another return. The worst part about the hike was the continuous climb to the top. Although challenging, not the worst feeling. I was most excited for the hike down, so easy. After about an 8 mile day, we were both sore. We finished the night off with gallons of ice cream and buffalo chicken strips. So healthy.

We ended our weekend doing one last shoot for Camplight Apparel and rooting for the Seahawks with some of our friends. I had a new collaboration with Camplight Apparel for their seasonal "Be Merry" tee. This is a super cute shirt for the holidays. I had the idea of wrapping christmas lights around a tree in the woods to bring out the festiveness. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out! We spent a few hours running through the woods finding the perfect spot. So glad they loved the pictures and I will be taking pictures of their New Years Tee soon! With our new cable box, we decided to host the Seahawks game. We went all out with mimosas, stuffed pizza, and appetizers. It was nice to watch the game in my slippers and eat unlimited amounts of food. I think we could call it a success, especially because we won! This weekend we are going to the Steelers vs. Seahawks game to celebrate my brother's 21st birthday! My family and I are originally from Pittsburgh, so this rivalry will be something incredible to see up close.
